David Wright

David studied painting in England receiving an MFA in painting in 1972. His early paintings were large scale “mega visual” abstractions in acrylic and mixed media, drawing visual references from the urban and technological environment.
In 1985 he returned to a more naturalistic interpretation of his environment, painting subjects to which he feels a more personal attachment – interiors of his home, still lives, cityscapes and landscapes familiar to him. He has exhibited extensively in Canada, the U.S A. and Mexico and his work is represented internationally in more than one hundred corporate and public collections.
