SOLD! Through the Valley
40x30 oil
$21,000
This painting depicts Isaac the only son of Abraham on his journey up the mountain. This journey was one God called Abraham to with the purpose of offering Isaac as a sacrifice. Abraham went trusting that God would not break His promise to make a great nation of his descendants and Isaac went trusting his father. The painting came to be a part of my own faith journey through the loss of my father. At first look it reflects the part of the journey where the outlook was bleak and the grief weighed heavily. More importantly, the story of Isaac reminds me that God remains faithful. He did spare Isaac and a great nation descended from him, and He has cared for my family and welcomed my father into eternity. When I am heavy laden I can remember God’s faithfulness to Abraham and Isaac and have hope through the valley and beyond.
