Meyer Gallery, founded in 1965 by Darrel and Jeri Meyer, opened with the intent to exhibit the finest of contemporary representational art by today’s top artists. After 20 successful years in Park City, the Meyers expanded their vision and gallery name to Santa Fe under the ownership of their son, Dirk Meyer. It was with Dirk’s eye and vision that Meyer Gallery was established on historic Canyon Road over 30 years ago. Guided by Dirk’s leadership as owner and John Manzari as managing director, the gallery evolved into what it is today – a leading force in Santa Fe’s art market for contemporary representational art, and premier destination for collectors and artists worldwide.
As current owner and Gallery Director for nearly 15 years, John Manzari is committed to honoring the legacy of the Meyer family and particularly his late business partner Dirk, who passed away in 2019. Originally from New York, Manzari attended the State University of New York at Binghamton before relocating to Santa Fe, where he worked in high-end retail before joining Meyer Gallery in 1994 as Associate Director. He assumed the role of Gallery Director in 2007, shaping the gallery’s current aesthetic with a keen curatorial eye. Along with his Associate Director Jordan West, Manzari leads the curation of the gallery’s annual exhibition series and is constantly seeking new artists to compliment the current roster of local, national, and international talent.
Meyer Gallery now represents over 60 artists, both emerging and well established, whose influences stem from master painters and sculptors from the past. With a fresh commitment, these artists continue to explore timeless genres including landscape, figurative and still life painting, as well as bronze sculpture. Within these realms, exhibiting artists offer a broad range of styles from realism to abstraction. Meyer Gallery’s annual exhibition series showcases new work by gallery artists, kicking off each spring and continuing through the end of the year. Artist receptions are open to the public and held at the gallery on Fridays from 5-7pm. Please also explore our website for updated inventory and available artwork.
