Painting Out Loud, from May 23 through June 5, 2025. An opening reception with the artist will be held on Friday, May 23, from 4 to 6 PM. Brad Price returns with a new body of work that deepens his long-standing connection to the landscapes of Northern New Mexico. Known for his vivid palette and expressive brushwork, Price continues to explore the terrain with renewed intensity, embracing thicker paint and more layered surfaces. This shift toward impasto gives his work an added dimensionality—each brushstroke holding light, shadow, and movement in a single gesture. In this latest series, Price captures scenes both iconic and intimate: a quiet chapel nestled beneath Black Mesa, wind-stirred chamisa in Arroyo Seco, and reflections pooled at the foot of Ranchos de Taos. Whether depicting the golden cottonwoods near Taos or the sandstone cliffs along the road to Christ in the Desert Monastery, each painting reflects his enduring affection for place—and his desire to share it through bold, textured expression. Artists Statement: The title of this show is “Painting Out Loud”referring to my bright colors and thick, bold directional brushstrokes. It also refers to my inner feelings when I paint. I hope that the viewer can hear my excitement about the location that I’m painting or my love of a place.  Art speaks and it says a variety of things about the landscape, the places, the environment and the heart of the artist. I really hope that people hear my heart and the work that I produce. I love northern New Mexico and I have for years. I've said before "I live in Oklahoma, but my heart lives in New Mexico" so I paint out loud.  The expression in my work is an encouragement to people to come out and explore this beautiful landscape on their own And to share in the excitement and love that I have for this place.      Part of the reason why I chose the title painting out loud for the show is that I'm beginning to paint with more texture, thicker paint. This impasto method allows me to express more with each brushstroke. There is a three dimensional aspect to each brushstroke with natural shadows and  highlights that make every brushstroke three tones in one.
